LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has
called a special meeting of the party’s provincial heads and central
leaders to discuss strategy regarding appointment of an interim prime
minister, new provinces and the party’s campaign for the general
election. The meeting will be held today (Monday) in Muree. Provincial
heads of the party, including Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and
his son Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, have been invited. Opposition leader in
the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar will also participate in the
meeting. Some sources in the PML-N informed this scribe that though the
Khyber Pukhtunkhwa leaders were initially not willing to attend the
meeting, but later they had confirmed their participation after their
direct contact with Nawaz Sharif, in which they had been assured that
their grievances would be removed at any cost as they were the party’s
asset for they had remained loyal to the party in “the military regime
of Pervez Musharraf”. staff report
